Team Manager (Qualified Social Worker) required for a local authority with a reputation for paying above the industry standard. A & A is the frontline service for Children’s Social Care, they deal with all new enquiries and referrals, undertaking Initial Assessments, Core Assessments and S47 child protection enquires, as appropriate.

We currently have a vacancy for Team Manager to work in the field of Children's Services. The Client has an excellent reputation for standards of service within the social care; they also offer competitive pay rates to candidates. The client is looking for a candidate to develop a modern, responsive, accountable and safe service that best meets the assessed statutory needs of Reading’s children and young people. Candidates will also be required to be responsible for the effective control of all budgets, expenditure and savings associated with the team and resources of the post holder’s portfolio within the framework of Corporate and Directorate policies and procedures. JOB PURPOSE: 1.To provide efficient and effective day-to-day operational management and supervision of a social care staff team. 2.To ensure high quality integrated service provision for the particular client group served by the team. 3. To undertake a range of duties and tasks that may be delegated by a Service Manager. 4. To safeguard the interests of children and young people in Reading at all times and in accordance with statutory requirements, Every Child Matters and the Change for Children agenda. 5. To ensure continuously improving outcomes and attainment for Reading’s children and young people. This role entails making decisions on cases and ensuring that referrers receive a response and that assessments are concluded in the set timescales. Candidates need to have a strong background within children’s services and have proven experience working in front line environments. QualificationsEducationTraining Values: 1. Appropriate professional social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent). 2. Post-qualifying experience and direct management experience within children’s services. 3. A relevant management qualificationmanagement training. 4. Educated to degree level. Experience and evidence of : 1. Knowledge of relevant organisational policies , practises and procedures. 2. Knowledge of the legal and social policy framework for children’s social work practice. 3. Experience in using service user feedback to inform service delivery. 4.
